: : Looking for information on Lewis Phoebus b. 1775 or before possibly in NC and was in Richmond County, Georgia by 1790. He had a daughter, Polly, who married Peter Bogges in Wilkes County in 1799. Lewis was in Wilkes, Columbia, Oglethorpe and Franklin Counties before arriving in Tennessee by 1819. Who were the parents of this Lewis Phoebus?

: There is a link to Lewis Phebus in maryland in the 1770's. Do you have his wifes name or any other info that we might try a link to him? He may have migrated from there.

: Leonard
Thank you for responding to my post. I do not have any earlier information on Lewis Phoebus before finding him defaulting on taxes in Richmond Co.,GA in 1790. I have not found the name of his wife but apparently she was still living when he reached Humphreys Co.,TN with George T., Leonard and Lewis W. Phoebus and Polly Bogus. Lewis and wife were 45 and over in the 1820 census. Leonard born 5 Feb. 1798 in GA was my ancestor. Lewis W. born 1809 in GA was living in the 1880 census and states that his parents were born in NC. I am not sure how George T. fits into this family. He may be a son of Lewis and father of Leonard. Leonard named a son George.
