I have posted a message at pgi@phebus.com about the possibility of PHABY being
a variant spelling of PHEBUS. My great-great-grandfather was John Pheby,
another variant of PHEBUS. John Pheby was born in 1820 in England but came to the U.S. sometime before 1854 when he married Mary Ann HENRY in Mecklenberg County, North Carolina. Can anyone in the PHEBUS line (1) shed any light on the variant spelling question and (2) have any information about a John PHEBY born in 1820 in England? Thanks.
