I am currently doing research on my family name, McDorman, and I see that you have an unknown McDorman marrying Mary Phebus in Maryland. I am particularly interested in the Somerset County, MD, McDormans and wondered how you found this connection between the two families. Any information you could pass along to me would be so greatly appreciated.

Incidentally, the name McDorman is also seen as McDormand (many in Nova Scotia that came from Pennsylvania and possibly Maryland], and sometimes Dormand or Dorman. The Dormand and Dorman connections have not been completely proven, but it appears there is some connection. Anyone with information on these surnames please contact me so that we can share information. This is my primary research line and I have put in many hours researching and would be happy to share!
