: : My grandmother has given me her list of Phebus'. Now I am trying to get some feedback on any relatives out there that might be from the Chas. Phebus and Asenath Cogswell marriage. This family stayed pretty much in the Miami Co., Kansas and Joplin, MO area. If you are of the same line, I would love to here from you. I haven't seen to much on the subject of Charles' father, Lewis, and am looking to connect so I give Grandmother some background. If you have anything to share on your end, just drop me an e-mail and we can compare notes.
: : Thanks!

: I do not know if this is of any help, but my father was from LaJuanta CO or lived there a long time died there in the early 70's His name was Charles F Phebus Sr.but he used the name Frank (middle name)his parents too lived in LaJuanta CO. and it seems that there may be some connection as I remember very vagley some stories about MO and Kansas. It was a long time ago. and I was very small Feel free to Email me any time with info or questions, or help. Thanks Charles
Charles F. (Frank), Phebus of La Junta was my fathers brother. Thier father was a early rancher in the otero county area of colorado, living and working in Higby, south of La Junta most of his life. The family did however live in Las Vegas New Mexico for a short while in the mid to late '30's. My father ,Harold Robert Phebus, no I am not a junior or II, spent most of his adult life in Pueblo,Colorado dying in the mid sixties. I have papers on dad and my Grand mother and grand father here some where. I will dig them up here soon and give you the information that I have. Stories and rumors aboud, but I do remember my grand parents watching the landing on the moon and telling the story of how granddad went to mo. to pick up grandma on a buckboard.. Seems to be that grand ma was the daughter of a cheyenne/white marrage. Frank and my dad had a sister, viola that the last I heard was living in Orange county Ca., though I would guess that she is either has died or is in her mid to late 90's there was possibily a fourth child, I remember saying something about a baby that had died young. If you like, please E_Mail at HRPWLBC@AOL.Com. just for any infromation, I live in rural eastern Colorado, in the town of Strasburg
