I am a descendant of Lewis Phoebus of Somerset County, MD, father of Harrison Phoebus (b.1840-d.1886). Harrison Phoebus was a well-known hotelier at Old Point Comfort in what is now Hampton, VA. He was proprietor of the world-famous Hygeia Hotel. He married Annie J. Stevens of New York and fathered 8 childred, one of whom was Frank Phoebus, my great-grandfather. <<I would be very interested in corresponding with anyone else who is also a descendant of this line.>> By the way, if anyone is interested and happens to visit Hampton, there is a very nice Phoebus memorial located in the cemetary at St. John's Church on Queen Street.
