: Bonnie,
: My mother's maiden name is Hartle. There are some Hartles that came from Drifting, PA. A small little town up in the mountains where they logged and were farmers. From there they came from Germany. I'm not to sure where at in Germany. I am still looking for more information. Please email me any information or if you want some information.

My Grandfather was born in Drifting PA in 1899! His name was James Hartle. Logging was one income for the area the others were coal mining and farming. My Grandfather owed the family farm in Drifting till at least the 1980's It was mined in the 70's Any other Hartle's from that area please contact me.
