One story I've heard about the Lovato clan is that 4 brothers came here from Mexico and had a parting of the ways and 1 or 2 of them changed the spelling to Lobato. You can probably use that somehow in your search. I have an Uncle who's doing some geneology on the name but I'm not sure where he's at. I could probably ask if your still interested. In New Mexico Lovato is almost as common as Smith. Good luck.


: I have always wanted to know where exactly my additional relatives are. They are mostly based that i know of in California ,Texas and Mexico and some in New Jersey. Arrendondo, Pena, Barreas and Garcia are some of the same I have heard over the years but I am not sure of the their first names. On the other hand my husband is also trying to find out where his last name is orginated from, his last name is Lovato.
