My family comes from the Island of Zlarin, Croatia as well. I don't know for certain the origins of the names you mentioned, but there were a number of French soldiers who arrived on Zlarin the mid-late 1800's (my great-grandfather being one of them). Perhaps this is the case of your last name.

There are also other non-Croatian sounding names on the Island...some say Russian or other eastern Slavic. You may want to check out the Zlarin Homepage... I think it's Zlarin.com or something like that. It would be, in my opinion unlikely that the names are anything other than the three mentioned above. I'll dig around and see what I can find in my Zlarin collection.
