------------------------------------------ Cyrus Webb (age 27) , Adaline (age 26), Viola E. (age 4), Sallie E. (age 3) can be found in the 1860 Census of Lincoln County, MO in the home of William B. Phoebus (age 50), Adaline's father. Sometime after the 1860 census was taken, Cyrus and Adaline Webb and family removed to Texas where their son William was born about 1869. Records, listed below, reveal the family was in Grayson, Texas by 1864. ------------------------------------------ Cyrus Webb Served in the Civil War - Confederate Perhaps one of the first welfare acts of its kind, the Texas Legislature in December 1863 passed the "Act to Support the Families and Dependents of Texas Soldiers." One million dollars was set aside to distribute to the families of soldiers who were in active service, had died in the war or had been disabled because of the war. Additionally cloth and excess thread from the State Penitentiary were given to these families after November 1864.
