JEFF PHEBUS RITES ARE HELD SUNDAY IN RIDGELY
Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon at the home in Ridgely for
Jeff Phebus, 61 years old, who died
Saturday after a rather lengthy siege
of poor health. Mr. Phebus had been
a resident of Ridgely for many years,
most of which time he was identified
with the cafe business.
Following services conducted by the
Rev. Dan Overall, the remains were
taken to Union City for interment in
East View Cemetery.
Willis Jeff Phebus was born Jan 2,
1881 in Obion County, and attended
the schools in Union City. He was
wed twice, the last time to Miss Fannie
Reeves of Ridgely on Jan. 8, 1921.
Surviving the death are his wife;
four sons, George Phebus, Monroe,
La., Jack Phebus, Millington, Tenn.,
Horace Phebus, Ridgely and
Norman Phebus, Ridgely; one
daughter, Ruth, aged 2; three grandchildren;
one sister, Mrs. Hellen
Rhea of Bradenton, Fla.
At the service, a choir sang "Rock of
Ages" and "Sweet Bye and Bye."
Pall bearers were Clyde McCutchen,
John Cox, Rupert Bird, Frank Taylor,
J. G. Shull and G. F. Richardson.
