!CENSUS: 1860 Boone Co., Iowa, Douglas Twp., Swedepoint 565/455; Enumerated near her mother in law, Barbara Phebus and other family members: HORNBECK, George 54 Merchant OH; Dorothy 53 OH; Elizabeth 26 IN; PHEBUS, Sophia 47 IN; the following born Missouri: Daniel 20; Eva 16; Augustine 14; and George 10. The above George Hornbeck, possibly is the John Hornbeck who married Dorothy Phebus. This John was the son of John and Elizabeth (Phebus) Hornbeck. George's first name may have been John--- John G. Phebus. A Hornbeck researcher gives the name as John. This John was born 18 May 1794. Sarah Phebus who married in Tippecanoe Co. Indiana 20 Nov 1864 was probably a granddaughter of John and Barbara Phebus. Probably the daughter of William and Sophia (Corwin) Phebus. Sarah married David Plumb a step son of Samuel Phebus.
